Reports are rolling in from people who have a Chromecast on pre-order with Amazon that they are receiveing emails informing them on a revised delivery date. And not in a good way.
One such report states that they ordered on the 25th July a few hours after Amazon sold out of the newly released Chromecast. Since then they have received three emails letting them know of the situation at the time. The first one outlined that they are now eligible for the Netflix promotion. The second gave an estimated delivery date of August 23 - and the third - which came through an hour or so ago - that the estimated delivery date is now October 17th-30th.
It looks like there may be a delay on the roll out of the next bunch of Chromecasts. Google does not have a spectactular track record of successfully keeping up with demand on new devices. This delay could be up to a month by the looks of things.
Last month there were rumours that the next lot of Chromecasts would not hit the market until early 2014 yet this seems unfounded and baseless.
Have you ordered a Chromecast and got a similar email from Amazon? Let others know in the comments.
